One of the true great comedies in television history has to be Parker Lewis Can’t Lose. No questions asked. Thus, my current dilemma: why is there no DVD box set of this show available?
While Parker Lewis Can’t Lose (known as PLCL by true fans) only ran for 3 seasons, there seems to be unbelievable demand for Sony Pictures, who owns the rights, to put PLCL out on DVD. While I was doing my obligatory Google searches for Parker Lewis, I stumbled upon Amazon’s page for Parker Lewis and discovered that I was definitely not alone in my wishes!I have two logical questions though. 1) What needs to be done to get Parker Lewis on DVD? 2) What does Corin Nemac think about all this?
Well the answer to the second question is easy, apparently, Corin Nemac has his own blog to shamelessly promote his now disappointing acting career (no offense, Corin!). However, since Mr. Nemac is a scientologist now, I wouldn’t count on him for much other than hanging with Tom Cruise. The second question proved to be much more difficult, what could be done to get Parker Lewis to his fans, it needed to be done. A letter writing campaign is to passe for this blogger.
I searched and searched on Sony’s website to find anything PLCL related and came up empty again. Then I realized, the only person who could take care of this pressing issue is the President of the United States. No, not Bush II. He is a lame duck at this point in his term and can barely get domestic surveillance legislation passed, much less convince the penny pinchers at Sony to release a TV box set.
Thanks to the Huffington Post, I was able to track political donations from the higher ups at Sony’s television division. It turns out that Amy Pascal and Michael Lynton both made the maximum allowed donations to Barack Obama’s campaign for President.
Mr. Obama, in return for these more than generous political donations, could we please get the long awaited Parker Lewis Can’t Lose dvd box set available via an executive order when you win the Oval Office in November? The fate of nerds and geeks all around rests on your shoulders.
